Heartland Data Breach
Tuesday, January 27, 2009

Old Missouri Bank recently received notification that some of our customers' MasterCard Debit Card numbers may have been compromised.  We are currently in the process of notifying all of the affected Old Missouri Bank cardholders in an effort to prevent and protect your account from a potential loss.

The compromise of card numbers was the result of a U.S. based card processing service company, Heartland Payment Systems, having a security breach within their processing system.  Although Heartland Payment Systems is not a processing service used by Old Missouri Bank, the intrusion into their computer network affected merchants that use their service throughout the United States.  This in turn may have resulted in the theft of some of our customers' debit card numbers as our customers transacted business with these merchants. Heartland has stated that no merchant data or cardholder Social Security numbers, unencrypted personal identification numbers (PIN), addresses or telephone numbers were involved in the breach.

NOTICE OF CHANGES IN TEMPORARY FDIC INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR TRANSACTION ACCOUNTS
All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.
The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOLTAs"). It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts and money-market deposit accounts.
